1. Why focus on cities?
We believe the gospel should transform cities.
When it comes to active transformation in the world, we usually aim too low or too high. We focus on only 1 individual or hope a whole country changes. Cities are the happy medium where the most people can be affected by a realistically achievable effort.
2. The big tree vision
The idea behind Big Tree comes from Jesus’ image of the mustard seed: a small beginning that can grow into a great tree. In the same way, visible faith, responsibility, and courageous leadership can grow beyond individual lives and begin to shape an entire city.

We believe a city reflects the Kingdom of God when its fruit becomes visible in everyday life:
- Families marked by love, stability, and responsibility
- Education shaped by truth, excellence and faith
- Business driven by integrity, trust, and long-term thinking

4. The eight branches of city life
Big Tree is the name of that broader vision. It sees city life as a tree with many branches, each representing an important area of community life.

The FRUIT Challenge is Big Tree’s simple framework for looking honestly at the quality of life in a city. It helps us ask where healthy fruit is already visible — and where the works of brokenness, neglect, division, or fear are shaping the city instead.
